A practical checklist so your onboarding starts with clean data and a clear plan.

Appointing an Accredited Service Provider is the start of the work, not the end of it. A provider can connect you to the Peppol network and report to the Federal Tax Authority, but it can only send what your systems give it.

Businesses that prepare these five items before they sign usually finish testing faster and avoid rejected invoices in their first weeks live.

The five things to have ready

1

Your TRN and legal entity details

Collect the Tax Registration Number and the legal name exactly as registered for every entity that issues invoices. In a group, each entity is set up separately, so list them all from the start.

2

Clean customer data

Check that your business customers have a valid TRN, the correct legal name and a current address. Remove duplicate records; the same customer saved twice is a common cause of errors during testing.

3

Consistent product and tax data

Make sure each product or service has a clear description, a unit of measure and the right VAT treatment, such as standard-rated, zero-rated, exempt or reverse charge. The invoice can only be as accurate as this data.

4

A map of where your invoices come from

List every system that issues invoices or credit notes (ERP, billing system, point of sale, spreadsheets) and roughly how many each produces per month. This decides whether you connect through an API, use the portal, or both.

5

A named owner and a timeline

Choose one person from finance or tax to sign off the tests, and one IT contact for the connection. Then plan backwards from your go-live date, leaving time for testing and for fixing data.

Good to know

Your provider confirms the exact data it needs during onboarding. For businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more, the provider must be appointed by 30 October 2026 and go-live is 1 January 2027.
